Time For A Yearly Update

As you may have guessed, I don’t keep up with the website very much. That said, I do try to stick my head in from time to time, if only to keep the cobwebs from building up. So, here’s what’s been going on:

Wyvern’s Wings (or whatever the hell I’m calling it, since titles are evil) is still in progress. Some time ago I decided the direction it was going just wasn’t working. I did what I’ve been trying not to do, which is go back and rewrite before the first draft is finished. It needed to be done, though, and now thankfully things are back on track.

I’ve got a few new characters to introduce as well:

Seanan, an elderly knight. Seanan was a successful knight for quite some time, but eventually time caught up with her. Rather than die a boring death she decided to go out in a blaze of glory. She heard about a dragon in the continent’s central mountain range and went to find it, ready and willing to fight one last losing battle.

Bazoth, a dragon. This is the dragon that Seanan set out to get killed by. Fortunately for her, Bazoth just wanted to be left alone, and didn’t really feel like taking the time or effort to kill an annoying knight when she could just avoid her. But Seanan has been annoyingly persistent.

There are also other assorted characters who come in and out, but those two are the most important.

Overall, I had hoped to finish the first draft of WW by the end of this past NaNoWriMo. That… didn’t work out. I briefly had some hope I could finish it before the new year, but that’s looking increasingly unlikely. So now it will become a new year’s resolution. I’ll finish this through pure stubbornness if nothing else.
